Soliman Auricular Allergy Treatment, SAAT, is a Medical Acupuncture treatment program developed to treat allergies including Alpha Gal Syndrome.
Developed by Medical Anesthesiologist Nader Soliman, MD, practicing in Maryland. Dr. Soliman is a distinguished leader in Medical Acupuncture. Other providers may offer SAAT protocol.
SAAT involves testing the patient using muscle testing or bio-electric testing to determine the ideal placement of a single tiny needle in the ear. As shown in the image above, the needle is extremely tiny.
In SAAT treatment, the needle will be inserted into the ear, covered with surgical tape, then left in place for three weeks. After three weeks it is removed.
The majority of patients treated with SAAT have found that they are able to resume eating meat within a few short weeks.
Costs for SAAT vary from $250-500 for the initial session. However there may be additional costs for the recommended homeopathic solutions that are used along with the acupuncture. There may be additional costs for any additional needles placed in the ear. These additional costs can go into the hundreds, depending upon what products are used. This varies by practitioner and by patient.
The SAAT treatment is typically a “one-and-done” treatment aimed at trying to address the Alpha Gal Syndrome or perhaps additional allergies. Patients are often treated with a single needle for a single visit. The initial session is often the only session.
How successful is SAAT? Providers often point to a published study from 2021 in which 96% of the 137 subjects were successful in being able to resume eating meat safely. However, this study was conducted using a select group of patients and relied on self-reporting. It is not known if this group of patients was particularly well-suited for effectiveness of the procedure.
Real world success is impossible to assess for SAAT treatment, as there is no data collected from or provided by the many practitioners that are “SAAT Certified.” Many patients have found that the SAAT program essentially resolves their reactions to meat and meat-based ingredients in products. Some patients who have tried the procedure failed to enjoy successful results. The success rate of any particular clinic will vary. One provider may have exceptionally good results while another may have a lower success rate.
The NAAT Program

The new NAAT program was developed to potentially provide additional benefits for the patient. It involves a different protocol of how acupuncture needles are used, where they are placed, and other aspects of the program.
It is important to keep in mind that, although high success rates may be encouraging, every patient is unique. Your response will be unique to you. You cannot compare your results to your neighbor, family member or friend. There are a range of individual factors that will play a role in how you respond.
Cost for the NAAT Program is usually less than $250 for the initial session. Patients are encouraged to request a FREE Initial Consultation to determine if they are a candidate for the treatment and to learn more about it. There are no additional costs for homeopathic products. The NAAT program involves a short series of visits to enhance the outcome of the treatment. This allows the NAAT treatment program to potentially provide additional benefits that may include decreased chronic pain, better sleep, more energy, balanced hormone function, improvement in migraines, relief from anxiety, and more.
